China Currency

Introduction

The Chinese currency is officially referred to as the RMB, which is short for Renminbi(translated: People's money). People refer to it also as "Yuan" or "Kuai". There are 100, 50, 20, 10, 5, 2 and 1 yuan banknotes. One Yuan equals 10 Jiao (or Mao in everyday use). You can get jiao in 5, 2 and 1 jiao banknotes. 1 kuai is 10 "fen". China stopped producing fen some years ago as prices have increased and nobody uses them anymore (except banks).

Next to the papermoney there are also 1 kuai, 5 jiao, 2 jiao and 1 jiao coins.
